Abdulhamid Liman Gambo

Alhaji Abdulhamid Liman Gambo, a seasoned and certified Librarian was born at Federe, Saminaka, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He started his elementary education at the Seventh Day Adventist primary school Jengre in the late 1960s in the Plateau State from where he proceeded to Zangon Kataf to continue his primary school education. He completed elementary education at Amina L.E.A. Primary School formerly St. Mary Catholic Primary School, Samaru-Zaria in 1973. For his secondary education, he attended the famous School for Arabic Studies (S A S), Kano from 1973-1978. Furthermore, he proceeded to School of General Studies, Bayero University, Kano for his 4term preliminary studies after which, he continued with his B A (Ed) History degree programme in the same University from 1981-1984. He did his NYSC in the former Cross River State comprising of the present day Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.

Alhaji Gambo joined the services of Ahmadu Bello Univesity on May 12, 1986 after briefly serving with the Kaduna State Ministry of Education, as Assistant Librarian and rose through the ranks. He obtained his Master of Library Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and is currently undergoing his Ph D programme in the Department of Library and Information Science of the same university. He is happily married with children and is currently the Head, Customer Services Division, Kashim Ibrahim Library after serving as the Librarian, Centre for Islamic Legal Studies Library, Kongo Campus A.B.U. Zaria.
